Half Cell Technology

Half Cell technology is a new method that divides the solar cells in half and thus improves the performance and durability of the unit.

The traditional panels of 60 or 72 cells with half cell technology now have 120 and 144 cells respectively. With this technology, the losses of the resistors are reduced and so the solar cells can produce more energy. The new smaller cells show reduced mechanical stress, so the risk of cracks is greatly reduced.

The advantages of this new technology are many and we mention a few of them:

  • Improved heat absorption
  • Improved performance in periodic shading conditions
  • Reduced power loss
  • Longer unit life
  • Greater reliability and higher nominal output power

Also, panels with half cell technology with a smaller area produce more energy, which is very important in the case of e.g. where space on the roofs is limited.

Half cell technology is the most modern trend in the field of photovoltaics, covering the increased demands for energy savings.

Half Cell units have a higher rated output power and are more reliable than traditional panels.
